I is issue: define the issue or event
R is rule: define the theory that is involved in the case such as negligence, breach of contract or defamation
A is analysis: to explain and define each part of the theory. Example like What parts of negligence there are and go into greater detail about it. Or if it is a contract discuss how the contract was valid first then talk about how there was a breach if there was one.
C is conclusion: make your decision on who you think wins, your final opinion.
This again can include things like: negligence, contract, breach of duty, etc
